Betting On The Election
A new way to do it.
New Competition For PredictIt
I’ve used PredictIt in the past to bet on election outcomes, and I currently have a bet on Trump to win the election there at 44 cents (winning PredictIt shares cash out at $1).
PredictIt has two downsides though:
Your maximum bet is capped at $850.
PredictIt takes a 5% fee when you withdraw funds.
It has a new competitor now though: Kalshi. Kalshi currently charges no fees, and it even pays you a money market-like yield on cash you hold there between bets.

Trump is currently at about 60% on Kalshi, so I took two different bets there:
Trump to win Wisconsin at 52%.
Republicans to win the White House and majorities in both the House and Senate at 47%.
Kalshi has a markets in other areas besides politics too, such as whether Elon Musk will launch a manned mission to Mars before 2030, so we can have some fun this between elections.
