This Week’s Trade Exits
As soon as I exit a trade, I note that in the comments of the post where I first mentioned the trade; at the end of the week, I try to track them all in one post. Starting in July, 2024, I have also been tracking them in this spreadsheet. These are the trades I exited this week.
Stocks or Exchange Traded Products
Aspen Aerogels (ASPN -3.24%↓). Bought at $23.99 on 7/5/2024; stopped out at $20.32 on 10/22/2024. Loss: 15.3%.
Options
Calls on Marathon Digital (MARA -5.83%↓). Bought at $0.48 on 10/16/2024; expired worthless on 10/25/2024. Loss: 100%.
Call spread on Carpenter Technology (CRS -1.51%↓). Entered at a net debit of $1.60 on 8/27/2024; exited at a net credit of $2.45 on 10/24/2024. Profit: 53%.
Call spread on Deckers Outdoor (DECK -2.23%↓). Entered at a net debit of $0.83 on 10/16/2024; exited at a net credit of $1.70 on 10/25/2024. Profit: 105%.
Call spread on Tesla (TSLA 8.44%↑). Entered at a net debit of $0.83 on 10/14/2024; exited at a net credit of $2.96 on 10/24/2024. Profit: 196%.

I got stopped out of one of our top names for a loss this week, but overall our core strategy continues to perform well, driven by the performance of our top names, which I updated in last night’s post.
Options
Our Marathon Digital calls were a lotto bet on last week’s Bitcoin rally continuing into this week. The others went well.
On the spreadsheet where I track these trades, I added a “Valuation Rating” column last week, but I am going to change it to something more general: “Signal”. I want to keep track of what motivated the trade, whether it was fundamentals, the stock appearing in our top names, etc., so we can track which work best.
